A Birthday Introspection
June 05, 2022
Namaste! Welcome to my blog. As I celebrated my birthday this week, I kind of went into an introspection phase. What did I learn so far? What were my strengths and weaknesses. I want to share with you all the three key learnings as I grow and work towards my goal.
Surround yourself with the right people in life
There is always this question floating around if you have heard,
"Which is more important? The journey or the destination"
The answer which I found for this was 'The company.' I hardly believed that the people I surround myself with, play that big of a role in my journey. Well, I was wrong!
But wait! I have some amazing friends in my life. If I have to drop some people in my life only to achieve success, is that wrong? Does that make a bad person? Well, it is subjective.
I believe in making more friends. Each person can teach you something. If you surround yourself with successful people, you are gonna be successful. Everyone says that. But a little addition from my side would be, that it is okay to be that person in someones else's life too.
Everyone's point A (where they are currently) is different. If you, surrounding yourself with successful people (who are currently trying to reach point C maybe) got yourself to point B, then don't be hesitant to be a part of a circle where you can help someone to point B. While growing yourself, helping others grow is how the circle of kindness works.
Manage money well
How many of you think, 'If I have more money, it will suddenly make me better at managing it?' or 'I will start managing my money when I start earning more than what I currently have.'
I used to think that. I used to strongly believe that my finances were in turmoil only because I was not earning enough.
Then I came across this author and entrepreneur who changed my perspectives on money management. This person is none other than T Harv Eker, author of ' The secrets of Millionaire Mind'
He says, "it is not about how much you earn, but rather about how you manage what you have." A person might be earning far lesser than me but can still have better financial management. So until I can manage what I got, the universe would not give me more.
Nothing is perfect, grow by implementation and finish what you start
I believe that these three things are related to each other. This learning is related to the decisions that we take in life.
Firstly, nothing is perfect. The first part of this mistake was I will take action when circumstances or things are perfect. But they hardly are.
Similar to how many people think, I thought that I will start writing blogs when I know everything about the dos and don'ts of writing blogs and promoting them.
But my mentor gave me a different perspective. He told me, 'We don't do things because we are good at them, rather we become good at things because we do them again and again.' Read that again.
Everyone starts from scratch. The people who become successful are not afraid of making mistakes. They take action. Make mistakes. Learn from their mistakes and implement what they learned immediately. That's how they reach where they currently are.
Lastly, do not stop till you have reached the goal. The habit of starting something and seeing it through till the goal is achieved is a superpower. As long as one does not give up, success is inevitable.
These were my key learnings as I start a new year of my life. I hope it helps everyone. Share your thoughts with me below.
